Arise SEO is a New Zealand-based digital agency specialising in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO). The Person Behind the Agency
Arise SEO is led by Pew Singh, a veteran of the IT and digital landscape with nearly 40 years of hands-on experience. Pew's career spans the United Kingdom and New Zealand, including significant tenures at top blue-chip technology companies such as IBM, where he developed a deep, foundational understanding of enterprise technology, data architecture, systems integration, and the way complex digital platforms operate at scale.
This background is not typical for an SEO agency founder, and that is precisely the point. While most digital marketing agencies approach search optimisation from a purely marketing perspective, Pew understands the underlying technology that powers search engines and AI platforms. This allows Arise SEO to implement strategies that go far beyond surface-level keyword stuffing or generic blog posts.
Before founding Arise SEO, Pew spent six years managing and implementing SEO strategies for the full client base of Avatar Ltd, a well-established Christchurch-based digital agency led by Mark Rocket. When Mark stepped back from Avatar to pursue other ventures, Pew took over Avatar's SEO clients and rebranded under the Arise SEO name — bringing with him the same experienced team and the same commitment to delivering real, measurable results. That continuity of trust is something we are proud of, and it remains the foundation of how we operate today.
Pew is also one of the most experienced practitioners of Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) in New Zealand — a discipline focused on ensuring that AI systems like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity cite and recommend your business when users ask questions relevant to your industry. This is the future of search, and it is something Arise SEO has been building expertise in since before most NZ agencies had even heard of it.
